Scottish Neo-Nazi Jailed for Terror Plot and Weapons Hoard

Alan Edward, a 54-year-old former journalist from Falkirk, Scotland, has been sentenced to ten years in prison for planning terrorist attacks. He was found guilty of intending to commit acts of terrorism, including plotting an attack on a Scottish LGBT group.

In September 2022, armed police raided Edward's home and discovered an extensive collection of weapons. This "armoury" included a crossbow with telescopic sights, 14 knives, some bearing Nazi and SS insignia, machetes, a tomahawk, a Samurai sword, knuckledusters, a catapult, an extendable baton, and a stun gun. Additionally, they found an air pistol modelled on the Walther PPK, an SS-style skull mask, goggles, a respirator, fighting gloves with hardened knuckles, pellets, ball bearings, and hunting tips for crossbow arrows.

The High Court in Stirling heard that Edward held neo-Nazi beliefs, embracing white supremacist ideals, racism, anti-Semitism, and hatred towards homosexual and transgender individuals. He was also convicted of racism, anti-Semitism, Holocaust denial, and breach of the peace. Edward denied all charges.

Judge Fiona Tait sentenced Edward to ten years in prison, followed by a five-year supervision order upon his release. He will also be subject to a serious crime prevention order.
